FAQ: FAQ

How long does each therapy session take?

Sessions are 50 minutes, but longer sessions may be reserved if requested in advance.  Sessions are by appointment only and most typically will be set to take place weekly at a regular day and time.

What kinds of techniques do you use?

I utilize a variety of approaches in working with my clients; depending upon the client and the issues they desire to address in therapy. Some of these modalities are Psychodynamic, Compassion-Based Therapy, Minfulness-based, Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, Somatic, Solution-Focused, and Attachment-Focused.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I understand that therapy can get expensive and have always tried to do what I can to make sessions more affordable; however,  I do not currently have any sliding scale openings available in my practice.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not take insurance.  I am considered an "out-of-network psychotherapist." It is best to find out about your benefits from your insurance carrier as they can differ from person to person. I will provide documentation for you so that your insurance carrier can reimburse you if you have coverage for this type of treatment. Unless special arrangements have been made in advance, payment will be due at the end of each session.

Will what I share in session remain private?

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and therapist.  All personal information shared in therapy is completely confidential and cannot be released to a third party without your signed authorization or written permission, with the exception of special circumstances when required by law. These exceptions are described in the informed consent paperwork completed at the onset of treatment.
